Latrobe City celebrates National Children's Week with Children's Expo at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium
The Latrobe City Children's Expo returned for 2022 this week as part of National Children's Week celebrations.
Held at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium, the Expo brought together a host of fun entertainment for children and their families and carers, including a magician, a fairy, animals, roving entertainers and even dinosaurs. Hundreds of local children enjoyed hands-on activities, including face painting, frisbee golf and a jumping castle. A range of market and information stalls were also there, featuring local businesses and service providers.
National Children's Week Children,s Expo is a fantastic day for parents, soon to be parents, Latrobe City staff and most importantly, the children!
Supporting children and families
Mayor of Latrobe City Cr Kellie O,Callaghan thanked the community and local businesses and organisations who supported the day. "The expo was a fantastic opportunity for our youngest residents and their families to enjoy an afternoon out, with lots of interactive activities and entertainment, as well as information about the range of services on offer in Latrobe City," said the Mayor.
Children,s Week celebrations are part of Latrobe City,s broader commitment to supporting children and their families through delivering care, learning and health services. "Making sure our services and facilities are accessible to children is a key priority for the council, helping them to have the best possible start to life."
"We also focus on making sure our community spaces such as Libraries, Latrobe Leisure Facilities, Latrobe Regional Gallery and Gippsland Performing Arts Centre are places where children feel welcomed and an important part of our community."
