Korumburra skatepark

Located at the Korumburra Railway Precinct, the new skatepark offers fun for thrill-seekers of all ages. You might recognise some familiar-looking skaters letting you know a little bit more about the park! Council funded $320,00 to the project, with the Victorian Government contributing another $100,000.

Register business opportunities

VicGrid is planning and delivering Victoria’s transmission pipeline, including the Gippsland offshore wind transmission project, and needs a wide range of skills to deliver it.

Registering your business means that the three companies who are tendering for the project will be able to see you in the Industry Connection Network (ICN) list to find and include local suppliers in their project bids.

Work will be available for all sorts of businesses, including construction, engineering, logistics, accommodation, professional services and more. For more information, visit Gateway ICN website.

Keeping grass short

All the recent rain has been great for lawns and gardens, but with warmer weather on the way, long, dry grass can quickly become a fire risk. Mowing your lawn now can make a big difference in keeping your home and neighbourhood safe this summer.

Council’s Community Safety team have been busy completing inspections of properties with long grass, so it’s a great idea to get in early and keep grass short. Our Open Space and Environment team is also busy slashing roadsides, with this work continuing progressively over the coming months.

Domestic animal management

At its December Council Meeting, South Gippsland Shire Council formally adopted the DAMP. The DAMP specifies that dogs must be on leash in public across the Shire. The new order will not commence immediately.

There will be further work to undertake prior to them being gazetted through the Victorian Government. The dog leash order is not scheduled to be introduced until year two of the Domestic Animal Management Plan. The 24-hour cat containment order is scheduled for year three.

In December, Council adopted the DAMP, requiring dogs on-leash Shire-wide, with implementation in year two and cat containment in year three
