For two weeks across March, Neerim South plays host to the fifth biennial Neerim Artsfest, a celebration of sculptural art which you can spot around the town, in parks, along streets and inside venues. This year’s theme is ‘The Spirit Soars’, inviting sculptors to create pieces of visual excitement, wonder, and an expression of freedom. This event is free.

Sculpture town showcase

Neerim South has always had its roots planted in The Arts, and especially sculptural art, as showcased by the majestic 7-storey Neerim Bower sculpture that welcomes visitors to the town. Located just 100 clicks of the odometre from Melbourne, you can get a taste of culture and country-vibes at this slow-paced town.

Make your first stop Algie Hall (open daily 10am - 4pm across the festival dates), where you can view the indoor sculptures and grab yourself a map of sculpture locations. Wander at your leisure through the parklands and streetscapes of Neerim South, taking in the exterior works of art.
