Australia Day Awards 2023 nominations for East Gippsland closing 30 November 2022
It's that time of year again - time to nominate inspiring individuals for the East Gippsland Australia Day Awards.
The awards program is an exciting opportunity to recognise the achievements of people making extraordinary contributions to the East Gippsland community for:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
Mayor Cr Mark Reeves said this is an opportunity to publicly recognise the outstanding contribution, hard work and achievements of people who make a positive difference within East Gippsland.

Acknowledging community
Cr Reeves said, "We need to acknowledge more often the work of community champions and volunteers and here's the chance. Everyone knows someone who makes a fantastic contribution to the community, so I encourage you to help us put them in the spotlight. Nominate now."
The Australia Day Awards are open to all Australian citizens who are living, studying, working or volunteering in East Gippsland. The 2022 winners were:
- Citizen of the Year - Annand Stan Baker of Lakes Entrance
- Young Citizen of the Year - Paris Davis of Orbost
- Community Event of the Year - East Gippsland Winter Festival
