Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the competition is an exciting opportunity for young people to step into the spotlight and showcase their talents. "This is your chance to put your creativity on display and be part of something bigger. .We know there is incredible talent right across East Gippsland, and the Youth Art Prize is about giving young people a platform to be seen, heard and celebrated," Cr Ashworth said

More than just a competition, the Youth Art Prize gives participants the experience of being an exhibiting artist, with selected works displayed at the Brabuwooloong Gallery at The Forge Theatre and Arts Hub in Bairnsdale. There are also cash prizes up for grabs, including category awards, a People’s Choice Award and an overall Judges’ Choice prize.
