Grantville landscaping

A landscaping plan to help beautify Grantville has been created by Council and approved by VicRoads. Stage one of the works includes planting an assortment of native plants from the traffic lights in Grantville, north past Wheatley Road and south past the commercial properties. Further stages will extend planting along Bass Highway, to the township boundaries.

Beginning in autumn, low maintenance native plants will be planted in the centre island of the highway, between the highway and service roads and in front of the Memorial Park. For safety reasons, natives in the centre island will be low planting so they do not obscure the view of drivers. Larger trees and shrubs will be planted on the roadsides.

Stage one of the landscape plan is on display at the Grantville Transaction Centre for community comment. Comments should be lodged at the Centre or sent to Bass Coast Shire Council, PO Box 118, Wonthaggi, 3995.
