Bass Coast growth

Bass Coast continues to experience steady growth across residential, commercial and tourism sectors, underpinned by population growth, major infrastructure projects and increasing private investment interest. Last year’s 2025 event welcomed over 70 attendees at Silverwater Resort in San Remo, where guests explored sustainable development, gained updates on the San Remo Structure Plan, and took advantage of valuable professional networking opportunities over breakfast.

This year's Forum will provide a practical overview of the region’s economic landscape, development pipeline and council’s investment priorities. Attendees will gain valuable insights into market trends, regional performance and the broader economic outlook shaping future growth.

A highlight of the event will be keynote speaker David Robertson, Head of Economics and Market Research at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. A respected voice on national and regional economic trends, David will share insights into Australia’s economic outlook and what it means for regional communities like Bass Coast.

Mayor backs investment

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Rochelle Halstead said the Forum reflects council’s commitment to supporting informed, sustainable investment across Bass Coast. "Bass Coast is a region of opportunity. With major projects underway and strong demand across key sectors, this forum provides an important platform to connect investors and industry leaders with the information they need to make confident decisions."

The forum is designed for:

  • Property developers
  • Planning and real estate professionals
  • Construction industry representatives
  • Investors
  • Business leaders

The Invest Bass Coast Forum forms part of council’s broader economic development program, which focuses on facilitating investment, supporting local business growth and strengthening the region’s long-term economic resilience.
