music and exhibitions across the state. Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe said more than $1.1 million in grants have been allocated to support 15 arts tours to regional and outer metropolitan areas and support annual tours for three major organisations. "These grants will help to support an already-thriving quality arts scene in regional and outer metropolitan Victoria," Mr Northe said. "Support through Touring Victoria will ensure that no matter where Victorians live, work or visit, they will have access to some of the best talent and programs around." The latest round will support a comprehensive range of art forms, including music, theatre, visual arts, dance and literature. Supported tours which will visit Latrobe Valley towns include:

- NETS Victoria's Tooth and Nail ceramics exhibition in Morwell. The exhibition features works by leading and emerging Australian and Chinese artists;

- Tour of Melbourne Ballet Company's Infinite Space in Traralgon; and

- Tour of the exhibition Cut with the kitchen knife in Morwell

Mr Northe also announced that the Latrobe City Performing Arts Program and the Latrobe Regional Gallery had both received a share of a $3.58 million investment in regional arts through the Victorian Coalition Government’s new Regional Partnerships program. Mr Northe said the new Regional Partnerships program was part of the Coalition Government’s commitment to the arts in regional Victoria. "This Regional Partnerships funding will support and strengthen our network of professionally-managed regional art galleries and performing arts centres through agreements with the councils that own and operate these facilities," Mr Northe said. The new program features longer-term funding agreements to enable better planning by venues and the ability to support specific projects or activities that may be beyond the scope of standard programs. "The arts are vital to the life and economy of regional Victoria, securing jobs, attracting tourists, stimulating local businesses and bringing people from all walks of life together," Mr Northe said.
