Gippsland business thrives

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has praised local business owner Ed Mosley and his team for their success in building a thriving enterprise that supports local jobs, drives innovation, and showcases Gippsland's natural strengths.

"Hillywood Tree Nursery is a great example of a local business that's grown through hard work, creativity and a strong connection to the community. Ed and his team have built a reputation for quality and sustainability, while continually finding new ways to diversify and strengthen Gippsland's economy," Mr Chester said.

Hillywood expands online

Located among the rolling hills of Briagolong, Hillywood Tree Nursery was founded by Mr Mosley in 2015 after completing a Bachelor of Horticulture at the University of Melbourne and gaining valuable industry experience. The nursery sits on the family's property, which also supports a beef cattle farm.

Traditionally focused on supplying the commercial landscape industry, including local government and professional landscapers, Hillywood's new online retail shop opens its extensive range of Gippsland-grown plants and trees to the broader community.

Local business success

Mr Chester said Hillywood's success highlighted the innovation and resilience of small business owners across the region. "Local businesses like Hillywood play a vital role in Gippsland's economy, diversifying industries, creating jobs and showcasing the talent and determination that make our region such a great place to live and work."

"I want to congratulate Ed and his team for their success and commitment to sustainable horticulture," Mr Chester said. For more information or to explore the new online shop, visit Hillywood Tree Nursery website.
