Free green waste disposal for Baw Baw Shire residents
Baw Baw Shire Council is offering residents free green waste disposal at selected transfer stations to help prepare their properties for the upcoming fire season.
Baw Baw Shire Council's annual free green waste disposal service will take place across a selection of dates in November and early December to assist households with property maintenance for the upcoming fire danger period and following the recent extreme weather.
Households may drop off up to 3 cubic metres of acceptable green waste including tree debris, branches, foliage, weeds and grass clippings
Transfer station information guide
Residents should note, all green waste must be delivered in residential vehicles and trailers. Green waste that is disposed of in commercial vehicles will be charged at the standard rate outlined in the transfer station information guide.This offer is available for all residents including ratepayers and tenants over selected dates.
Neerim South Transfer Station
- 10am - 4pm
- Friday 19 November and Sunday 21 November
Erica Transfer Station
- 12pm - 4pm
- Sunday 21 November and Monday 22 November
Trafalgar Transfer Station
- 10am - 4pm
- Saturday 27 November and Sunday 28 November
Lardner Transfer Station
- 10am - 4pm
- Saturday 4 December and Sunday 5 December
Residents are not required to make a booking but are reminded to ensure they show a proof of residency for example, a driver's licence plus a rates notice or a utility bill.
Take precaution and dispose
Mayor Danny Goss said, "Now is the perfect time to clear out your properties of any unwanted green waste, particularly excess tree branches and debris gathered from the recent extreme weather. It is important we all take precaution and dispose of any hazardous waste in time for the upcoming summer season.
"Bookings are not required, so I strongly encourage residents to visit one of the transfer stations mentioned on the selected dates and take advantage of this free service". Mr Goss said.
