Free film screening 'The reason why I jump' for Social Inclusion Week and International Day of People with Disability in Bass Coast Shire
Bass Coast Shire Council is hosting a free film screening event in Wonthaggi on Thursday, 1stDecember to celebrate Social Inclusion Week and International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD).
Social Inclusion Week aims to help everyone feel included and valued. IDPWD aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities and celebrate their achievements and contributions. The event includes a film screening 'The Reason I Jump' at the Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre, as well as a free small popcorn or dixie cup.

The afternoon session starts at 1:00pm and features a relaxed session screening of 'The Reason I Jump'. A relaxed screening session has a special subtitle stream which will include both subtitling of dialogue, as well as warnings of potentially difficult moments within the film itself. The screening will also include dimmed lights (not completely off), lowered audio and patrons will be free to move around within the venue during screening.
The evening session starts at 6.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend this event. Tickets are limited, so bookings are essential for all attendees, through trybooking - SIW & IDPwD Film Screening - The Reason I Jump website or by calling the Arts Centre on (03) 5671 2470.
