MEYIP supports children and family

The MEYIP details a range of services provided by council to support the health, development and wellbeing of children and families in Baw Baw Shire, including:

  • Maternal and child health and immunisation services
  • Running playgroups and new parent programs
  • Coordinating family day care services
  • Kindergarten registration
  • And providing buildings and spaces where early years programs and services can operate from

As part of maintaining a healthy and thriving environment for young families, council also provides accessible facilities that are important in the lives of children and families, including playgrounds and open spaces, swimming pools and leisure centres, libraries, community events and social support services.

To develop a greater understanding of the current and future needs of children aged 0 - 8 years, including the services and infrastructure they may require, community members are invited to provide their feedback to help inform the MEYIP.

How you can get involved

There are several ways to provide your feedback to be a part of planning for children and families in Baw Baw Shire by:

  • Completing an online survey
  • Completing a short postcard style survey that will soon be distributed to community places like kindergartens, childcare centres and libraries

  • Emailing us at Early.Years@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au
