"For 32 years the Wonthaggi Rotary Club has honoured individuals who contribute deeply to our region. More than 250 service awards have been presented and a proud tradition continued at this year’s Australia Day event."

"Rotary shines a light on the quiet achievers who strengthen our communities," she said. The Citizen of the Year recipient was Rodney McLean, recognised for decades of volunteer work. "Rodney is the essence of community spirit. A life member of the CFA, long serving volunteer with Uncle Bob’s Club and the Friends of the State Coal Mine, he gives generously and without fanfare." Ms Bath expressed her gratitude to all volunteers and to Rotary for its enduring contribution. "Rotary’s commitment to celebrating service makes our region stronger," she said.
