Mr Chester joined his state colleague Tim Bull at the event, where students proudly wore the colours of their favourite AFL teams and took part in football-themed activities before enjoying the traditional mini hot dogs and party pies.

"Days like this are a great reminder of the importance of schools in building connections, encouraging participation and having some fun along the way. The students brought plenty of energy and team spirit, and it was terrific to see everyone getting involved and supporting their chosen teams," Mr Chester said.

Mr Chester thanked the school community for the invitation and congratulated staff for organising a memorable event. "I want to thank everyone at Metung Primary for the warm welcome, and congratulate the teachers and support staff on putting together such a fun day for the students. Events like Footy Colours Day showcase the positive role schools play in supporting not only learning, but also the social and cultural life of our regional communities," he said.
