Export Gippsland Network is a partnership program that assists Gippsland businesses that have an interest in exporting their products. Baw Baw Shire Council applied for funding on behalf of the Network.

Council Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Patterson said the funding would provide members of the Network with valuable training and mentoring opportunities. "There has been an increase in interest from businesses within the shire who are interested in exporting their products," said Mr Patterson. "Council officers are working with a number of local businesses to help them promote and exhibit their products.

"We hope that interested businesses will be able to reach their target export markets and achieve the growth they are aiming for," said Mr Patterson.

Later this month, four locally produced brands will exhibit at Food and Hotel Asia in Singapore. Another three companies are involved in a shared stand with a number of Victorian companies. For most of these local companies, this is the first time they have exhibited at a major international food trade-fair.
