Mr Chester said the funding was provided through the 2024-25 Volunteer Grants Program, which supports the vital work of local volunteers across Gippsland. "The Rosedale and District Historical Society plays an important role in our community by protecting local heritage and providing a place for people to connect with their past."
"This grant will help create a safer and more comfortable environment for the volunteers who give so much of their time, as well as the visitors who come to learn about the district's rich history. It's a small but meaningful investment in the long-term sustainability of the society and its work in preserving our local stories for future generations," Mr Chester said.
Mr Chester congratulated the society's members on their successful application and thanked them for their service to the community. "Volunteers are at the heart of everything we value in regional communities, and I'm pleased to support projects like this that make their work a little easier and more enjoyable," Mr Chester said.
