Road safety enhancements
Benefits to community
- Safer Roads for Everyone: The Blackspot Program aims to reduce accidents on Australian roads by targeting locations where crashes have occurred. By implementing improvements such as traffic signals and roundabouts at these dangerous spots, we can significantly enhance road safety and prevent future accidents. This initiative not only saves lives but also saves our community from the high costs associated with road crashes
- Long-Term Safety Goals: The Federal Government Blackspot Program focuses on reducing serious and fatal road crashes over a five-year period. The selection of improvement sites on Nyora-St. Helier Road was based on a detailed analysis of crash history, ensuring the most effective use of resources
Project deliverables
- Comprehensive Road Works: Our team will be working on pavement widening, vegetation removal, kerb works, and line marking, including audio tactile line marking to enhance road safety
- Enhanced Safety Measures: We will be installing directional chevron hazard signs to improve safety on the road bends and extending the existing guard rail for added protection
Staying informed
We understand that these works may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our contractor will strive to minimise disruptions to road users and residents. To ensure the safety of all road users, appropriate traffic control measures will be in place throughout the duration of the works.
