About the Rural Engagement Group
The Bass Coast Rural Engagement Group (REG) was formed in 2013 to create a forum for discussion between the council and the agricultural sector. Members of the group are selected to ensure that the REG represents a cross-section of geographical locations, rural activity type and farm size.
Other members in the group include representatives from:
- Bass Coast Landcare Network
- Victorian Farmers Federation
- Food & Fibre Gippsland
- Bass Coast Shire Council Councillors and Officers
This event is a continuation of a larger program of works Bass Coast Shire Council delivered in 2023. The broader program focused on building resilience and wellbeing of the farming community across Bass Coast. It included three core elements:
- Small Agribusiness and Farming Diversity and Resilience Program
- Mental Health First Aid course tailored to farming communities
- Program in partnership with Food & Fibre Gippsland to better support existing health and agribusiness support networks
Participate in our farming resilience workshop and enjoy a light lunch, hosted in collaboration with Bass Coast Shire Council's Rural Engagement Group. Discover strategies for resilience and harmonising business with lifestyle in this dynamic, practical session led by Leigh and Liz Crocker of Ion Group.
- When: Thursday 15 February at 12:30pm - 3:00pm
- Where: Kernot Community Centre
