Share the information

Council has been working with local service groups to set up these relief events and we send a shout-out to everyone who volunteers to the various service groups around the Yarram district for always stepping up and helping your neighbours.

These Binginwarri events are proudly being catered for by the Lions Club and Yarram Neighbourhood House. Council will also have staff available to assess relief needs, so please look out for their friendly faces. Please also share this information with anyone you know is still without telecommunications and may not see this messaging.

Spoiled food and waste disposal at the Yarram Transfer Station

Council will waive all fees for the disposal of waste material from the flood/storms at the Yarram Transfer Station. This includes spoiled food due to the power outage, flood damaged items and green waste. Please make sure you provide the transfer station staff your address and tell them that you are disposing of flood related waste to pay no fee.

The Yarram Transfer Station is operating normal on its operating hours.

Fee-free green waste for affected residents

Wellington residents affected by flood and storm can now dispose of green waste for no-fee at landfill or transfer stations in Kilmany, Maffra, Loch Sport, Seaspray, Heyfield, Stratford and Yarram. This free service is available only for those who were impacted by the storm and flood event, so transfer stations will be asking for ID, showing a name and address.

You cannot dispose of tree stumps or logs bigger than 30cm in diameter and material must not be heavily contaminated with mud or soil. As stated above, the Yarram Transfer Station will continue to accept all household waste material resulting from the storm and floods. However, building-demolition material such as bricks, timber and concrete cannot be accepted.

Commercial loads will not be accepted fee free and the Dargo Transfer Station does not have the capacity to receive green waste. Find out more fee-free green waste disposal.
