Baw Baw Shire Council welcomed $250,000 from the Victorian government to upgrade Buln Buln Recreation Reserve lighting, enhancing safety, visibility, and usability for local sporting clubs and night games.
Baw Baw Shire Council has welcomed a $250,000 funding commitment from the Victorian government to upgrade oval lighting at the Buln Buln Recreation Reserve. The Hon. Harriet Shing MP made the announcement last week when she visited the Buln Buln Recreation Reserve. The announcement outlined a $250,000 Victorian government funding commitment towards a $350,000 oval lighting upgrade at the reserve.
The reserve hosts vibrant clubs like Buln Buln Football Netball, Junior Football, and Cricket, with over 15 teams. Upgraded lighting ensures safer training and night games
Boosting Buln Buln
Baw Baw Shire Deputy Mayor Cr Tricia Jones welcomes the support from the Victorian government. "This project will include four new 25 metre towers with LED fittings, improving visibility and usability of the field particularly throughout the cooler months."
"This announcement means that the project can be delivered in the upcoming 2025/26 financial year and is another project in the Rural Recreation Reserve Master Plan that can now be completed in partnership with the Victorian government. This is a great outcome for the Buln Buln community," she said.
The reserve is home to a number of vibrant local sporting clubs including the Buln Buln Football Netball Club, the Buln Buln Junior Football Club and the Buln Buln Cricket Club, with over 15 teams between them. The lighting upgrade will provide oval users with safer training conditions and enable night games to be scheduled at the reserve.
