OUT AND ABOUT IN SOUTH GIPPSLAND
Gippsland is a vast region that is roughly the size of the Netherlands, and this photo comparison provides a powerful visual of the weather extremes at this time, with two places that are just over 200 km apart showing such diverse landscapes. In the South the cows are up to their shins in lush grass, and in the Central and Eastern corners of the region, the sheep are nibbling through tinder-dry brown grass in a drought that continues to tighten its grip in a number of locations, all of which would just like some rain for Christmas - if only it were that easy!
As a collaborative force, it's important for F&FG to keep in touch with what's happening for individuals, businesses of all sizes and communities in general. Our Acting CEO Dr. Nicola Watts has some insights and reflections on a few days spent in South Gippsland in the last week of November. Click here to read more.
