Inclusive art exhibition
The Exhibition will be displayed at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) from 6 November 2024 to 2 March 2025, as part of Latrobe Regional Gallery's seasonal programming. It will also form part of council's celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD), held on 3 December each year. Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe, said that Latrobe City recognises the importance of celebrating art and culture as it enriches lives and encourages social inclusion.
"Art provides a way for individuals to express themselves freely and connect with the community in a meaningful way. This Exhibition in particular, provides a special opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the creative impact artists with disabilities make to the cultural landscape of Latrobe City."
"A key focus in our Living Well Latrobe Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan is to provide all individuals with access to tools and resources that will improve their health and wellbeing. This Exhibition highlights council's commitment to social inclusion and working with our Creative Venues to ensure everyone in the community can actively participate in their hobbies and interests, without any barriers," said the Mayor.
