Budget projects delivered

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson said the draft Budget will help to deliver some major projects and services the community has been waiting for. "During the pre-budget community consultation last year, we asked people to tell us any specific projects, priorities or ideas they would like considered as part of the budget process. We received 50 submissions and used this input to shape the 2026/27 draft Budget."

"Some of the key capital works projects highlighted in the draft Budget include the multi-use pavilion at Gaskin Park, Churchill, community facility upgrades and playground renewals, preschool renewals at Boolarra and Glengarry, public hall renewal works at Newborough and Churchill, and Joe Carmody Athletics Track resurfacing," the Mayor said.

Have your say

The mayor added, "I'm really pleased to see these local projects included in the draft Budget which will benefit a range of communities across Latrobe City. You can now view the draft Budget on our Your Say platform. Any feedback we receive from the community will be carefully considered."

The Budget includes a total capital works program of $88.5 million comprising $39.6 million from the 2026/27 year program and $48.9 million of continuing multiyear projects. This Budget also includes the introduction of a new Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) kerbside collection service.
