Business Sessions in Bass Coast

Bass Coast Shire, in collaboration with GREEN Inc[1], announces the establishment of a new promotional service, a virtual gateway to the whole of Gippsland, including a directory of all Gippsland businesses. Local business is cordially invited to inspect the gateway, and to consider how you could benefit through your involvement. Here’s your chance to be seen by:

  • customers who want to buy locally,
  • visitors checking facilities and services from afar, and
  • anybody wanting to find you, day or night.

The Gippsland On Line Directory (yes, it’s GOLD!) is a classified listing of all things Gippsland. A GOLD listing will double the prominence of your site on the World Wide Web, because it’s so easily accessible to tourists, visitors and investors. On top of that, collecting all Gippsland businesses at one portal attracts the attention of the major search engines, and adds to the value of every member listed – that’s win-win for you.

To celebrate this local launch of Gippsland.com, business managers are invited to two free information sessions. These sessions are compiled to present Internet options in the context of day-to-day Marketing Communications. They offer an up-to-date background for business managers on:

  1. How to get best results and value from a gateway or portal, and
  2. Whether, how and when to set up your own website.

They are presented by operations staff with the compliments of GREEN Inc, a regional Not-For-Profit organization the manager of the Gippsland.com website. The gateway or portal, www.Gippsland.com, is THE key focus of internet information and promotion for Gippsland, because it is now officially endorsed by the six Local Government Councils of Gippsland, including the Bass Coast Shire Council.

Who Should Attend?

These sessions provide quality business information and are designed to inform all those who work with market communications. They will suit business proprietors, marketing managers and consultants, IT professionals, officers of associations and providers of advisory services at all levels.

The sessions are just a beginning. Gippsland.com staff are working one-on-one with Bass Coast businesses over these few days, and will welcome the opportunity to meet and talk with you about your own circumstances.

The Websites That Work!

Catch up with the Internet’s commercial wisdom; see what survived from the hype and promise of the late 90’s about "new economies" and the global marketplace.

Study how smart business invests in its own website, taking control of the image it presents to the world, selecting the functions it makes available to its customers, and the steps you might have to take in order to climb the technology staircase. How far up the staircase should you go?

Study how other smart businesses don’t have a website at all, but still use the Internet for promotion, prospecting and selling. See how they do that for as little as a tenth the cost of a corporate web presence. Perhaps a website is worthwhile for you, or may be soon.

p.s. We don’t do websites; we just watch how they work.

Using an Internet Portal

Extend your knowledge of gateways on the ‘Net, see how they can add value and prominence to companies, towns, regions, associations, clubs and industries. Note how they focus the interest of searchers to improve the profile of their members.

Consider what they might do for your business, study how to make best use of a gateway, estimate the costs and benefits for you, explore what optional extras might do to add value to your involvement. Talk to the operations staff from YOUR official Gippsland gateway about what YOU want in your business communications, decide for yourself whether they can help you.

What’s that? You don’t have a website? Perhaps you don’t need one, but here’s a perfect chance to identify your options and reconsider your choice: The GOLD listing entitles you to a page of information about you, your business, your offer and contact details. It’s the chance of a first web presence at fantastically low cost: the opportunity to test how a fully-developed web site (which will cost many times more) might be worthwhile for you some time in the future.

Watch your local media, or act on the information below. Over the next few days, we’ll be telling business people all about Gippsland.com and the GOLD opportunity: we hope you’ll drop in to one of our information sessions in Wonthaggi and Phillip Island.
