Glenmaggie Wines (Tinamba West) have opened the doors to their stunning new cellar in Tinamba West, just in time for your lazy summer afternoons. The freshest produce is sourced from their own garden and surrounding farms and transformed by the kitchen team into delicious dishes like pork belly and charcuterie platters, just perfect to pair with Glenmaggie wines. Kick back and enjoy the sunshine as you sip a crisp chardonnay and indulge in a decadent lunch, surrounded by lush farmland.
While it won't open until mid-2024, we just had to throw Dunetown into the mix. Dunetown (near Marlo) is the exciting new project by uber-cool brewers, Sailors Grave Brewing. Located along the coast midway between Marlo and Cape Conran, Dunetown will be a sustainable brewery destination and hospitality hub with a calendar of exciting events throughout the year. Dunetown will allow Sailors Grave to increase their output of fresh Froth Whitlams while maintaining their focus on sustainability.
Bullock Island undergoes a transformation, introducing Off the Wharf Seafood Precinct, offering local seafood and scenic dining experiences
Fin-tastic seafood
Bullock Island (Lakes Entrance) is getting a facelift and the Off the Wharf Seafood Precinct is set to be a unique addition to the town, with locally sourced seafood and a picturesque dining experience that takes in the natural beauty of the area.
Enjoy a plate of freshly caught fish at The Fish & Chippery or buy fresh seafood to take home. A new accessible ramp and viewing platform will provide visitors with a chance to see seafood being unloaded and processed up close.
The Berry Dairy in Maffra offers pick-your-own strawberries, farm-fresh lunches, a petting zoo, and varied playgrounds for everyone
Berry special farm
We can barely handle the sweetness at the family-friendly strawberry farm, The Berry Dairy (Maffra). Grab a basket and pick your own strawberries (Nov - Apr), then follow it up with a lunch that features fresh Gippsland produce - including scones baked fresh on the farm with farm-grown strawberry jam.
A visit to the petting zoo is essential, so you can say hello to the adorable goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and calves that call the Berry Dairy home. There are multiple playgrounds for all age groups, including some giant games for the big kids.
Lakes Entrance old slipway becomes a cultural hub for Gippsland producers, featuring food trucks, businesses like Sailors Grave Brewing
Cool collective
The old slipway (Lakes Entrance) on the Gippsland Lakes has been reclaimed by a collective of Gippsland food producers and artists, with an exciting new cultural hub set to open in time for the summer.
The iconic shipping yard will house a festive courtyard of food trucks and stalls. Expect to see some of East Gippsland's favourite businesses, like Sailors Grave Brewing and Gippsland Jersey. The Slipway will be like a year-round food festival, bringing new life to the old shipyard.
Koho Floating Sauna in Lakes Entrance offers immersive wellbeing amid nature, providing contrast therapy and modern wellness experiences
Sweat it out
A dreamy addition to Gippsland's growing list of spa experiences, Koho Floating Sauna (Lakes Entrance) offers an immersive wellbeing experience in the middle of nature. Guests can indulge in contrast therapy, moving from hot to cold immersion.
Featuring the latest in wellbeing science, Koho Floating Sauna is the next go-to spa destination. Roast in the wood-fire sauna then dip under a cold shower (or access the crisp waters of the Gippsland Lakes for the more adventurous).
