Pop up library in Council hq during Morwell Library temporary closure
The Morwell Library will close from Saturday 3 September until Tuesday 13 September to allow for plumbing works to take place.
The Morwell Library will close from Saturday 3 September until Tuesday 13 September to allow for plumbing works to take place.
Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Michael Rossiter, said in order that our community’s love of lending and learning not be interrupted, a pop up library will open at the corporate headquarters in Commercial Road.
"Although the library will be shut we will be offering library members the same service from a special pop up library located just up the road in our service centre area of the headquarters building."
The pop up library will be open from 8.30am to 5.15 pm from Monday 5 September to 5.15pm on Tuesday 13 September (excluding Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September).
"Our community will be able to collect and place items on hold, select from a range of reading materials or book a 15 minute session on a public access PC.
"Storytime will also be held at the regular time of 11am on Tuesday 6 September and Tuesday 13 September at pop up library," Cr Rossiter said.
"We know how important our library services are to the community. Being able to offer this pop up library during the closure period means that Morwell locals won’t have to travel too far to access the same services.
"However, it’s also timely to remind library members that membership covers all our libraries in Latrobe City, with facilities in Churchill, Moe and Traralgon too. And remember, many services are available online so you don’t even have to leave your home," Cr Rossiter concluded.
