Old bins and new caddiesWith any change comes a few trials and tribulations and Bass Coast Shire Council have put a few things in place to keep the challenges to a minimum with the new three-bin system. By Portal Admin - 5th September 2017 - Back to News Council have created a range of information resources where people can have their questions answered and learn about the new system. You can view a demonstration video, short informative films, and read explanations online at

Some residents have experienced difficulty in opening the liners. When pulled from the bag they appear to be unsealed down one side. To open the caddy liner, rub the material at the top with your fingers and the sides of the bag will separate, allowing you to open up the liner.
Now that the new system has started, the retrieval of old bins will begin. Old bins can be laid down empty on the kerbside ready for collection.
For holiday homes, a second round of collections will occur in January for those unable to put their old bins out this week. Old bins can also be taken to any Counciltransfer station during opening hours and will be received free of charge.
