Storm-damaged Gippsland homes qualify for emergency relief payments $640 per adult, $320 per child and maximum $2,240 per family
Emergency relief payments assist storm-affected Victorians. $640/adult, $320/child, max $2,240/family. Eligible if home damaged or in evacuation warning area. Apply via DFFH at 1800 560 760 (press 9 for interpreter).
Emergency relief payments are available for eligible community members whose homes have been damaged by the storms in Victoria. If you have, or are, experiencing a power outage but your home has not been damaged by the storm or you were not in an evacuation warning area - you will not be eligible for this payment.
Fixed amounts per household member regardless of income, $640/adult, $320/child, max $2,240 per family where eligibility is based on residence and needs
Emergency relief application
An emergency relief payment can help you pay for things you need most, including:
- Food
- Clothing
- Medication
- Accommodation
Payment amount
- Emergency relief payments are based on a fixed amount for each member of your household
- The payment is not calculated based on how much money you earn
- Payments are $640 per adult and $320 per child, up to a maximum of $2,240 per eligible family
Who can get the payment
You are eligible for a relief payment if:
- Your principal place of residence is in an evacuation warning area, or the fires or storms have damaged your home
- You have unmet immediate relief needs
How to apply
These payments are provided through the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). If you think you may be eligible for a relief payment, please call the Emergency Recovery Hotline on 1800 560 760. Press 9 for an interpreter.
