Stormwater drainage rehabilitation on Bayview Avenue at Tenby Point starts 14 November 2022
Bass Coast Shire Council advises the commencement of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) Rehabilitation Works at Bayview Avenue, Tenby Point on the week commencing 14 November
Works are anticipated to take six weeks, to be completed by mid-December, subject to weather, material availability and COVID-19 impacts. Stormwater drainage performance will be increased in the area by rehabilitating existing rain gardens, grass swales and infiltration basins along Bayview Avenue between Park Lane and Guy Road. The Water Sensitive Urban Design items have been underperforming recently.

Revegetating rain gardens
Eco Projects Australia Pty Ltd are undertaking the works, forming part of council's adopted Capital Works Program 2022/23. Funded by the Storm Water Renewal Program, the total project cost is $100,000. "By re-vegetating these rain gardens and infiltration basins, council will improve storm water quality in the local community. The area will also benefit from increased efficiency in stormwater discharge, following these Water Sensitive Urban Design works." said Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Whelan.
Council advises that appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented at Bayview Avenue during these works. This will be a construction zone, so there will be access restrictions.
We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience for residents and we ask for your patience during these works.
