‘Receipts, records and reports’ will be presented by Dr. Abdel Halibi and Ms Robyn Dyt as part of the Energise Enterprise 2006 Victorian Government initiative for small businesses on Thursday, June 8 from 5.30pm in the Business and Economics Conference Room at the Gippsland Campus. Also part of the Victoria’s Small Business Festival, the School of Business and Economics will be holding a Small Business Breakfast on Tuesday, May 13 from 7am-8.30am in the Business and Economics Conference Room at the Gippsland Campus. The breakfast will be a networking session for small business owners and managers. Associate Professor Rowena Barrett will discuss the role and activities of the Family and Small Business Research Unit at the Gippsland Campus and how and why small business owners and managers can get involved.

Tshidi Khunou from Monash South Africa Recruitment will be visiting the Gippsland Campus on June 1 to experience first hand the operations of a regional campus. Tshidi conducts recruitment activities in sub-Saharan Africa and beyond representing both South Africa and the broader Monash.

• Medical school 2008

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Brian Mackenzie will be addressing staff at the Gippsland Campus on Wednesday, May 31as part of his regular forum series. Among the points of discussion, Prof. Mackenzie will be discussing the new medical school to be opened at the Gippsland campus in 2008 and progress made by the working parties to ensure its successful introduction to the region. The new medical school, which will be offering a graduate-entry medical course in the first instance, is expected to help address the shortage of medical doctors in regional Australia.

• Making the Grade

The Gippsland Campus will be rocking at Open Day this year with bands from secondary schools entering the ‘Big Gig @ Monash’ to perform and showcase their talents for the people attending. Prizes and the opportunity to perform at the Gippsland Education Precinct ‘Under Age Rage’ are on offer for bands who register before June 30 to be part of the "Big Gig @ Monash’.
