New Cutting-Edge Building for Latrobe Valley KidsYallourn North Primary School to officially open its new architect-designed modular building. By Portal Admin - 20th May 2018 - Back to News Students in Yallourn North have a modern state-of-the-art building, thanks an innovative new Andrews Labor Government school building program.
Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Yallourn North Primary School to officially open its new architect-designed modular building.
Within 9 months of announcing funding, the new architect-designed modular building has replaced the ageing administration area, general office, staff toilets, sick bay, art room, classrooms and library.
These facilities were delivered as part of the Labor Government’s Asbestos Removal Program.
Using modular buildings is a fast and efficient way to help schools replace older buildings containing asbestos with brand new facilities.
The buildings are made off-site and delivered to the school so teaching is not interrupted and on-site safety risks are reduced. The Victorian School Building Authority worked with Yallourn North Primary School on building details such as colour and location.
The Labor Government is investing more than $2.8 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
