More Community-Led Projects Receive Funding
Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe City to share in more than $500,000 of funding.
A further five community-led projects across Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe City will share in more than $500,000 of funding from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing MP today announced the latest projects to receive funding from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund.
ArcYinnar has received a $228,935 grant to upgrade the gallery space and increase energy efficiency. The project includes new insulation, hydronic underfloor heating, double-glazed windows, skylights and solar panels. The group also previously received a grant from the Fund to develop concept plans and a cost plan for the upgrade.
Labertouche Hall has received a $117,950 grant to complete essential upgrades to the building, including replacement of the roof, repairs to the ceiling and flooring, and an upgrade to the electrical connections.
Accessibility and safety will be improved at Trafalgar Bowling Club after receiving a $89,585 grant for new DDA-compliant amenities, entry ramps and electronic doors, and replacement of old damaged carpet.
Thorpdale Multi-Purpose Stadium will be refurbished to improve safety thanks to a $55,962 grant towards new floors, basketball boards and nets, and painting the building’s interior and exterior.
Not-for-profit Gippslandia has received a $18,571 grant to build organisational capacity, with board members to undertake governance training and develop a strategic plan for the free quarterly magazine.
More than 180 different community groups across the Latrobe Valley region are now seeing the benefits of improved facilities thanks to the Victorian Government’s Community and Facility Fund, delivered as part of the Latrobe Valley Authority’s $266 million package.
The $20 million Fund is now fully subscribed, with LVA staff continuing to work with individual groups to complete projects already underway.
