Come meet AFL legend Eddie Betts at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium Catterick Crescent in Traralgon on 28 June 2022
Latrobe City Libraries are excited to announce that AFL legend and anti-racism campaigner, Eddie Betts, is coming to Latrobe City to read from his children's books, sign autographs, answer questions and kick a footy around.
The 'Come and meet Eddie Betts' event will take place on Tuesday 28 June from 10am at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium Catterick Crescent in Traralgon. Tickets are free, but bookings are essential. Latrobe City Mayor Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the event is family-oriented, but the wider community is welcome to participate and come and meet this legend.

Events that kick literacy
Cr O'Callaghan said, "Latrobe City Libraries may not be renowned for their standing in the local sporting arena, but they are experts in delivering events that kick literacy, learning and social goals. Eddie has written two children's books, and will read from the latest, MY PEOPLE, where you'll hear about the importance of Aboriginal culture. He'll answer your questions and do signings."
"Eddie loves to meet people and, together with his kind crew, he delivers a strong message about culture, community and resilience. The event is also being supported by local sporting and community groups so there will be plenty of other activities to occupy young minds and bodies. You can kick a footy, play games with Latrobe street games, join the library and borrow other sporting titles." Cr O'Callaghan said.
Bookings are at Eventbrite but to find out more go to Latrobe City Library website or visit your local branch.
