2002 Community Minor Capital Works Grants Announced

Seven local community groups will share more than $24,000 of community minor capital works grants.

Seven local community groups will share more than $24,000 of community minor capital works grants from Bass Coast Shire Council.

"Council is delighted to provide funds for these projects," said Cr John Gains, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council.

"This is the second year of the community minor capital works grants, with a total of more than $64,800 distributed to local groups to date," said Cr Gains.

Organisations that have received community minor capital works grants this year are:

Rhyll Tennis Club $2,039
Extension of concrete area around tennis courts.

Woolamai Recreation Reserve Committee of Management $5,000
Renovations to Woolamai Hall and other buildings including recladding and replacement of doors, windows and spouting.

Phillip Island Netball Club $4,356
Drainage improvements and landscaping around netball courts.

Inverloch Cricket Club $5,000
Construction of disabled access ramp to new club rooms.

Wonthaggi Workmen’s Cricket Club $4,306
Improvements to training nets and construction of new pergola.

Lions Club of Phillip Island $886
Extend existing building to incorporate a furniture store room.

Phillip Island Soccer Club $2,500
Purchase and install floodlight.
