Reducing plastic waste
Managing director Sarah Cumming said the fountains were a sustainable solution to reduce reliance on single-use plastic water bottles. "These fountains make fresh drinking water easily accessible during community events and lessen the need for single use plastic."
"Instead, attendees can bring a bottle from home and fill it up as many times as they need to. It's a win for the environment and for your wallet. The fountains are also free to book and easy to connect to any ordinary garden hose fitting," Ms Cumming said.
Three pairs of fountains are now available to book for not-for-profit community events where a water main connection is available. To find out how to book a drinking fountain, visit Gippsland Water website.
