Berrys Beach Road renewal in Ventnor gets $400,000 from Victorian government and $25,000 from Bass Coast Council
A section of Berrys Beach Road in Ventnor will be renewed by Bass Coast Shire Council in coming weeks.
The renewal will take place along approximately 420 metres of Berrys Beach Road, between the roundabout intersection with Ventnor Beach Road and Ventnor Road. Construction is now underway, with works expected to be completed by early May, subject to favourable weather, supplier, material and contractor availability.
This road is requiring pavement renewal works which is important in ensuring the road network is safe and sustainable for the community into the future and levels of service
Road closure
A full road closure of Berry Beach Road (between the roundabout intersection and Ventnor Road) will be required as part of these works during working hours (approx. 7.00am-5.00pm), however, the road will be reopened at the end of each day's work. This closure is expected to take place from Monday, 11 April until Monday, 2 May.
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Michael Whelan, said that due to the road closure and detours, road users are being urged to plan their journey. "Please obey and follow all detours and traffic control measures when navigating through the works - these are in place for your safety, as well as the safety of the workers on the road. As always, local and emergency vehicle access to properties will be maintained at all times." Cr Whelan said.
Project funding
This project is being funded by $400,000 from the state government's Roads to Recovery Program as well as $25,000 from council. This project will include up to 620 metres of approved vegetation clearing, associated with the required drainage works. All approved permits and vegetation offsets have been secured for this work.
