Community members of the Inverloch Neighbourhood Advisory Committee are already hard at work assisting Council with the Inverloch Neighbourhood Character Survey.

Members of the Advisory Committee are:
· John Gunson · David Sutton · Wendy Davies
· Norman Deacon · Mark Haines · Steve Fisher
· Ian Symonds · PJ Allen · Lorraine Scott
· Peter Dalmau

Cr Noel Maud chairs the Committee, which also includes Council staff: Sue Porter, Project Officer; Stephen Foster, Planning Manager and Nathan Alexander, Urban Design Adviser.

“The Committee’s role is to oversee and coordinate how the Inverloch neighbourhood character survey is conducted and provide advice and recommendations to Council on matters related to the survey,” said Cr Maud. “The Committee will also participate in the analysis of the survey data and help develop policies.”

Cr Maud explained that the overall project’s aim is to assess the existing neighbourhood character of Inverloch and develop a draft policy to facilitate a preferred neighbourhood character or characters for Inverloch. The project will also review the provisions in the Bass Coast Planning Scheme to reflect and implement the findings of the Neighbourhood Character Study in accordance with Rescode.

“This is an important project for Inverloch as it will impact on the area now and into the future,” said Cr Maud. “Inverloch’s increasing popularity for both holiday homes and permanent residences means we have to ensure we have a strategic approach to our built environment.”

“It’s terrific that the Committee includes a broad cross section of the Inverloch community and people with diverse views and opinions,” said Cr Maud. “This will ensure that the final policy will reflect the varied interests of members of the Inverloch community.”
