Grants and sponsorships from $2,000 to $20,000 available for events, capital works, equipment and wellbeing projects
Community organisations will have the chance to garner funding support when round two of Latrobe City Council's Community Grant and Sponsorship program opens on 31 January.
A variety of grants and sponsorships, ranging from $2,000 to $20,000, will be made available for events, capital works, equipment and wellbeing projects through a competitive application process. This funding is designed to support participation, facilitate projects and events and improve facilities to meet recreational, social and cultural needs of the community.
Latrobe City Council has a proud history of working in partnership with the community to meet local needs by providing health, wellbeing and safety to the community
Positive result from improvements
The program also aims to improve health, wellbeing and safety outcomes and promote inclusivity. Round one grant recipient Yallourn Yallourn North Football Netball Club used its funding to lay asphalt at the George Bates Reserve which has proved a popular addition at the Bombers' fortress.
"There has been positive feedback from the players and members that the area now looks much more professional and attractive to new players. Community safety has been significantly improved and the works have reduced instances of holes and puddles after rain. It has also improved access to the change rooms, toilets and canteen by removing the previously rough and uneven surface." club secretary Debra DeCarli said.
Limited funds are available through a competitive process, with applications determined according to funding criteria and merit
