Traralgon Tennis Association hosts Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International 2024 featuring two Australian Pro Tour events
The Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International returns with two Pro Tour events, supported by Tennis Australia, Tennis Victoria, local councils, and community, aiming to promote tennis and boost the region's economy.
The Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International will return to Traralgon Tennis Association for back-to-back weeks showcasing men's and women's professional tennis from Sunday 18 February to Sunday 3 March 2024. The two Australian Pro Tour events will offer a total prize pool of more than AUD $130,000 and valuable world ranking points.
It's a stepping stone in the Australian Pro Tour, linking rising players to ATP/WTA Tours by offering world ranking points
Traralgon tennis returns
Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria will host the tournament in conjunction with the Traralgon Tennis Association and with the invaluable support from the Latrobe City Council and Destination Gippsland. Tennis Australia's Pro Tour Manager Fiona Luscombe thanked the region for their ongoing support.
"We are extremely grateful for the support of Latrobe City Council, Destination Gippsland, the Traralgon Tennis Association and the community for their support to be able to host these events. We are thrilled to have the Australian Pro Tour return to Traralgon."
"We have a longstanding relationship with Traralgon, hosting professional tennis events and are looking forward to hosting another great season of tennis and encourage the local community to enjoy," Luscombe said.
Tennis event excitement
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe, said "Council is excited to again host the Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International. "Off the back of Latrobe City hosting the Australian Open Junior lead-in event in January 2024, we are delighted to welcome another international standard sport event to the region" said the Mayor.
Destination Gippsland CEO Terry Robinson is excited to see the event return to Traralgon with the back-to-back tournaments supporting a healthy economic impact into the local communities and the opportunity to showcase the region as a great destination to visit.
Traralgon Tennis Association President Cameron Herbert added, "We are thrilled that the Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International will return once again in 2024 and look forward to hosting professional men and women players competing across the two weeks and we invite our community to enjoy the free tournament. Pro tennis series
The Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International is part of the Australian Pro Tour, a series of professional tennis events held throughout the year to bridge upcoming players with the ATP/WTA Tour, providing an opportunity to earn significant world ranking points.
The field for the Latrobe City Traralgon Tennis International will be announced in February.
