Storm debris needs to go to green waste facilities

Latrobe City residents have been reminded that green waste is no longer accepted at Council’s transfer stations, but needs to be taken to one of the dedicated Pine Gro green waste facilities.

By Latrobe City Council - 23rd February 2005 - Back to News

Latrobe City’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Buckley, said that following the recent storm damage, a number of residents had arrived at the transfer stations with a trailer or utility load of branches, to learn that they now had to take them to one of the green waste facilities.

"While we advertised the new arrangements extensively last year when they were introduced, a reminder may help residents who are now planning garden clean-ups.

"Most people now find that the fortnightly green waste collection suits their normal ongoing needs. However, following the recent storm there may be cases where residents have decided to dispose of a trailer or utility load of debris.

"Please remember that if you need to dispose of bulk quantities of garden green waste, it can only be disposed of at the dedicated green waste facilities," Mr Buckley said.

Pine Gro’s Morwell Site is open 9am to 5pm, seven days a week and is located in Monash Way Morwell, two km from the freeway entrance.

The Traralgon and Moe sites are open 9am to 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays. The Moe site is located at 50 Della Torre Road, and the Traralgon site in Rocla Road, 500 metres from the Princes Highway.
