The Kiama Kinder program, part of Noah’s Ark Inc, will be operating temporarily from a former Latrobe City preschool premises in Well Street, Morwell and will continue to do so until the end of Term 2.

Latrobe City deputy mayor, Cr Bruce Lougheed, said that while Noah’s Ark is currently updating their existing premises in Morwell, council has generously made the Well Street premises available at no cost.

"We are very happy to provide assistance to ensure this vital community resource continues to function without disruption. Despite the inconvenience of working in temporary accommodation, council has ensured that Noah’s Ark is able to continue their fantastic work. I’m sure the updated centre will be worth waiting for," Cr Lougheed said.

Jenny Howell, the regional manager of Noah’s Ark, expressed gratitude to Latrobe City for making the facility available. "Noah's Ark works to ensure that all children with additional needs are included in their community, and with this generous assistance from council during our renovations of the Kiama Kinder building, we’re able to continue to work with children and families without interruption," Ms Howell said.

"Noah's Ark provides a range of services to children and families, primarily during the early childhood years including developmental playgroups, individual therapy and support, family support, and assistance to child care services to support the inclusion of children with disabilities.

"We are also grateful for support council provides us in Traralgon where council allows our use of a kindergarten building in Maguire Court, at a peppercorn rental," Ms Howell added.

It is anticipated that the renovations will be completed in time for the commencement of term 3.
