Holiday fun at Latrobe City librariesLooking for something entertaining, exciting and fun during the April school holidays? By news@gippsland - 27th March 2013 - Back to News Then look no further than Latrobe City libraries’ fun-filled entertainment program for children aged between five and ten years.
Latrobe City coordinator libraries, Deb Skinner, said the two shows on offer these holidays were George the Conductor and Dr Knickerbocker.
"Week one features Anthony Verity in George the Conductor. In this interactive show, Anthony beautifully executes a superbly elegant and snappy pantomime. George is an eccentric, dancing clown who thinks he is an orchestra conductor. Performing physical theatre, mime and story animation, George takes us on a fantasy journey as he recreates his versions of the great symphonies. Anthony’s show will be enjoyed by children aged six and over.
"Week two features Mike Jackson of Bananas in Pyjamas fame in Dr Knickerbocker. This show is a joyous collection of funny songs, action games, magical string figures, and a whole truckload of instruments, hilarious antics and juggling. Through a whirlwind of musical instruments, songs, stories, laughs, juggling and string, Mike proves that it’s never too early or too late to begin to learn something new!" Ms Skinner said.
Ms Skinner added that some shows were being held at different venues due to the expected popularity of the program.
"In recent times we have seen a huge number of families attend our library school holiday shows and so we have selected venues that hold a larger number of people for some of the shows. Check the venue when you book your ticket," Ms Skinner concluded.
