Sustainability Festival Saturday

Running from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 14 March, Wellington Sustainability Festival will transform Nakunbalook Cultural and Environmental Education Centre and Seed Community Garden in Sale, near Sale Botanic Gardens, into a celebration of sustainable living.

At Nakunbalook, attendees can enjoy short talks on native food growing, conservation success stories, biochar and how home electrification can cut emissions and power bills. Over at Seed Community Garden, there are all day garden tours plus workshops on beekeeping and creating amazing compost.

Throughout the day, visitors can drop in to interactive activities including a mobile bug lab, animal storytelling, endangered animal art and family art sessions. A highlight will be the children’s Big Science Big Fun show with Fizzics Education at 12pm.
