Business Awards Open The Bass Coast SuperPages Business Awards open on 14 September with all Bass Coast businesses being encouraged to apply. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 11th September 2009 - Back to News Bass Coast Mayor, Cr John Duscher, said this year’s Awards align with the Gippsland Business Awards, which is the first step to our local businesses participating in the larger event.
"It’s very simple to enter and I encourage all interested businesses to get their applications in before Monday, 12 October," said Cr Duscher.
"There is an obvious economic benefit in having successful businesses supporting our community.
"Also, our business owners and their staff are an integral part of the success of our community and the experience people have when they visit Bass Coast.
"These Awards are a way for the business community to formally recognise a great business effort.
"Evidence from other regions has shown that an ongoing business awards program is an asset to businesses in the region," explained Cr Duscher.
Bass Coast Business Development Officer, Margaret Murray, agrees.
"There is evidence to suggest that regions that have a strong business awards program have raised the benchmark in how the region delivers its services to the local and visiting public," said Mrs Murray.
"Businesses who make a commitment to collectively strive for excellence, lead the way in delivering a great legacy for the future of Bass Coast.
"It also gives an assurance that the local economy will grow and is in good hands," continued Mrs Murray.
