Business Funding BoostGovernment commits $50,000 to Latrobe City Council local business events program. By Portal Admin - 16th June 2019 - Back to News The Andrews Labor Government is boosting Gippsland business by committing $50,000 to Latrobe City Council local business events program.
Member for Eastern Victoria Region confirmed the funding as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s programme to make Victoria the best state in which to build a small business.
The money will support events for the local business community, including the Gippsland Business Festival in August. Latrobe City Council, is working with Bass Coast Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council, South Gippsland Shire Council and Wellington Shire Council
By supporting small businesses in Gippsland, the Andrews Labor Government is helping create more local jobs and boost the region’s economy.
This programme will target priority businesses through partnerships with councils, chambers of commerce and organisations which cater to women in business, Aboriginal-owned businesses, culturally and linguistically diverse business owners and business people with a disability.
More than 600,000 small businesses operate in Victoria and they have increased faster than anywhere else in Australia, according to the ABS.
The latest Sensis report shows Victorian small businesses have the most positive predictions in the nation for their sales, profitability, employment and prices.
