Shire Announces New Childcare Centre At BarcEast Gippsland Shire Council has announced it will build a new childcare centre within the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC) to accommodate 30 children. By East Gippsland Shire Council - 30th September 2005 - Back to News The new centre is to assist working parents who need day and holiday care for their youngsters.
Costing $450,000, the facility will be jointly funded by the Shire and the Victorian Education Department and is expected to be operational by mid-2006.
The Shire has appointed Melbourne architectural firm McGann-Carr who have begun work on the design of the new centre.
Mayor Cr Jane Rowe said the new childcare centre would be a fantastic new facility."
"It will be purpose built to enable our working families to access day care and school holiday programs in a safe and fun environment," she said.
"It will also build on the excellent community assets already in that location."
