By news@gippsland - 8th October 2026 - Back to News East Gippsland Shire Council has found local operators to take on operations at the Eagle Point Foreshore Hub, securing a strong future for the popular waterfront facility. The couple, Samantha Holmes and Brett Savory, have renamed the cafe The Nest – Eagle Point. The Nest will offer sit-down dining, takeaway including tea and coffee, and catering, with a focus on local produce and fresh regional ingredients.

"It’s great to see two locals taking on the Hub and bringing their ideas and experience to an important community facility." "Samantha and Brett have a strong connection to Eagle Point and understand what makes this such a special place for locals and visitors. The Nest will bring a fresh offering to the foreshore while the Hub continues to provide an important space for the community," she said. Fresh flavours, local produceThe Hub’s community meeting rooms will remain open and available for use throughout the refurbishment period and meeting room bookings are now managed by The Nest. Brett Savory said the Hub’s strong community connection and waterfront setting were key reasons the couple took on the business. "As locals with a strong connection to the area, we were drawn to the Hub and the opportunity to create a place where locals and visitors can come together, relax and enjoy great food and coffee. We’re excited to bring a strong food offering, great coffee and friendly customer service to the foreshore, with a focus on using and promoting local produce wherever possible," he said. The new operators aim to attract more visitors and give local producers another outlet to sell their products.
