Gippsland Water's people's panel brings 50 customers together to help shape future plans and pricing priorities for the region

Gippsland Water's People's Panel has brought together 50 randomly selected customers to help shape future plans and make recommendations influencing the corporation's 2028-33 Price Submission.

A diverse group of 50 Gippsland Water customers came together on Saturday 12 September to help shape the organisation's future plans. The People's Panel will learn about the challenges and opportunities facing the water corporation and make recommendations that will directly influence Gippsland Water's 2028-33 Price Submission to the Essential Services Commission.

People's panel begins

Over five sessions, the panel will learn more about the organisation's operations, challenges and plans and weigh in with their perspectives, priorities and feedback. Participants were randomly selected to represent different demographics and locations across the region within Gippsland Water's service area. The opening session was independently facilitated by MosaicLab and included presentations from Gippsland Water board chair Tom Mollenkopf AO and managing director Sarah Cumming.

The panel members also had the chance to meet a range of people who work at Gippsland Water, helping them build a good base level of knowledge for the panel's deliberations. When the panel comes together next, they'll explore some of the big issues Gippsland Water is facing in more detail.

The People's Panel is a major milestone in Gippsland Water's Planning for the Future engagement program, which seeks to ensure customer and community priorities are reflected through the water corporation's plans and the services it delivers.
