Draft Lake Narracan Foreshore Landscape Plans on public exhibition
The draft Lake Narracan Foreshore Landscape Plans are now on public exhibition and Latrobe City Council is asking the community for its feedback. The community consultation period continues until 13 April 2017.
Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Kellie O’Callaghan, said the plans set out a vision for how the area can be developed for future needs of the Moe/Newborough community."The landscape concept outlines plans for three of the foreshore parks identified in the Lake Narracan Precinct Structure Plan that Council adopted in 2014. We would like to understand how the community currently uses the space and how it could be used in future; what features of the plans are well regarded and what could be changed to accommodate other elements and whether the proposed uses are realistic and appropriate.
"We are always looking for genuine and honest feedback for these sorts of engagement activities, so we are holding an open house session on Wednesday 22 March 2017 at the Moe Service Centre in George Street between 5pm and 7pm. Community members are welcome to drop in at any time during those hours," Cr O’Callaghan said.
"For those who can’t attend, the opportunity to discuss the plans with a member of the planning team is an option. One-on- one appointments can be made directly and there is always email or our online feedback form through the have a say section on our website.
"The concept plans show new recreation facilities along the Lake Narracan foreshore for all community members and visitors to the area to enjoy. The recreation facilities will put Lake Narracan on the map as a quality destination for the broader community and offer a lifestyle like never before in our area. Waterfront living is an attractive proposition and with a variety of lot sizes available, the development is within the reach of a diverse range of individuals, families or investors," Cr O’Callaghan concluded.
Submissions are open until 13 April 2017.
