Morwell Centenary Rose Garden celebrates 30 years at International Rose Garden Festival Morwell on 12-13 November 2022Morwell Centenary Rose Garden will celebrate its 30th anniversary with its central role in the International Rose Garden Festival Morwell from 12-13 November. By news@gippsland - 21st September 2022 - Back to News Expecting to draw visitors to Morwell from across the state, the free community festival will shine a light on the garden, which features over 4000 roses that receive over 6000 hours a year of care by dedicated volunteers. As part of the festival, ABC Gardening Australia host and crowd favourite Costa Georgiadis will host and judge the cut rose competition on Saturday. On Sunday, families can enjoy live performances and meet special guests Bluey and Bingo.

Among the highlights of this year's festival are night light displays from 6.30pm to 10.30pm complemented by roving performances and pop-up attractions supported by AGL Loy Yang. AGL Loy Yang General Manager Christo van Niekerk said AGL was proud to support the event once again by helping to bring the garden to life after dark with an illuminated display. "It is fantastic to see the festival return to its full capacity this year, bringing the community and visitors together to enjoy the beauty of the garden and all that is on offer over the weekend." Opportunity to connectMr van Niekerk also acknowledged the work and expertise of the Friends of the Rose Garden volunteers for helping the garden look its best. Mayor of Latrobe City Cr Kellie O'Callaghan invited the community to be part of the festival. "The festival continues to go from strength to strength, attracting visitors from across the state to Morwell as well as providing a valuable opportunity for our community to connect and enjoy the atmosphere of the rose garden. "The tireless work of our community group volunteers ensures that the rose garden is immaculately prepared, the volunteers spending hours in the garden and behind the scenes to ensure the roses are in full bloom. We are excited to welcome special guests Costa and Bluey and Bingo to the festival this year, who will be a fantastic drawcard," said Cr O'Callaghan. The event is delivered by Latrobe City Council with support provided by the Victorian government through its Regional Event Fund and major sponsor AGL.
